The final episodeWell it’s that time of the year again: the holiday season has arrived. Again we will be spending all that money on stuff we don’t really need, according to Benjamin Barber. And hardly any of the stuff is really special, because it is created by companies that keep copying each others success. And because of that karaoke effect they shout harder and harder to reach more consumers. But that tends to become less effective every day. It seems as if those companies haven’t gotten accustomed yet to their changing environment. An environment in which the consumer (if he can still be called that) is looking for meaning and puts an increased emphasis on the social responsibility of companies. We’ve surpassed the age where the world can still be controlled and dictated top-down by producers. It requires increased creativity to anticipate the most fundamental changes of our time. As we say the future is not empowered by technology, but by creativity.

We’ll be off for the next two weeks and back in 2008 to share our thoughts and perspectives on the changes that happen around us. Looking forward to yours!
