Strategy, creativity & research
My education varies from marketing to photography to programming to philosophy, documentary production, scenario writing etc. whatever was needed at the time to complement my skillset for the co-creation and communication of visions within multi-discplinary groups, so called future studies. Just email me at Arjan@Freedomlab.org if you want to discuss some scenarios.
Directing research, advocate-networks & PartnerLabs
Prior to joining FreedomLab I’ve had a long history in various media companies. Ranging from Dutch national broadcasters to independent television production companies in the Netherlands and the US. At the end of the last millennium I was involved with the set up of several internet based companies and experienced the boom and the bust first hand. I hold a degree in Communication Sciences from the University of Amsterdam. Contact me to share some thoughts?! Or ask me on Twitter…
Directing the Lab, relationships, operations, administration
After my study Technical Computer Knowledge, I moved into the telecommunication industry working as account manager. After nine years in telecommunications I started a datacenter and after that became responsible for sales and customer services for a European webhostingcompany. As of October 2006 I am part of the FreedomLab team. Want to do a PartnerLab or use other services? rob @ freedomlab.org
Almost all great philosophers tended to design an eternal system for our knowledge of the world, but I think contingency is the fundamental factor. Understanding culture to me is understanding change as a constant. To study this change at FreedomLab is better then anywhere else. Do you want to discuss some ideas? Contact me at joachim@freedomlab.org
I’m working on tools like LiveFeed, Santiago, Swarm, Flowchart etc. Researching new tech like YUI, Ajax, Ruby on Rails. Managing the development conducted in cooperation with our special forces in Argentina.
| Federico (Argentina) Swarms, Flowcharts, Cupertino’s, Radials, Equalizers. Building these tools requires skills, high spirit and determination. With these talents, and others, he has become an integral part of our development team. |

We believe in sharing more than knowledge. The foundation, called MyNGO is using the reach of the internet to facilitate a friends-of-friends network to empower local professionals around the wold in their mission to help others.
In addition to fund-raising and coordinating projects, Myngo has the goal to inform the sponsors about specific themes to increase awareness of and engagement with problems in creating a sustainable world. The organisation will do so by connecting local (developed world) to local (developing world), by creating a transparent and direct way for sponsors to get involved with certain projects which fit the Myngo-project-profile.
Myngo is using a put-a-face-to-the-problem approach to embody certain themes, since it is the organisations firm believe that understanding the problem and initiating the goodwill to help, all starts by with the empathy, understanding and respect for the people in need and their means and ideas to solve a piece of the puzzle. Activities Myngo therefor organizes are fund-raising by the means of subscriptions, sponsorships and donations, facilitating a meetingpoint for the members and the projects to share information and the management of projects with local entities and people. In short, MyNGO is your personal non-governmental organisation.
Bunga bridges the gap between social footprint (what a company is) and the company itself (identified by name or synonym) in any web accessible context. Everyone can get a footprint anywhere on the web.
Everyone, in society, leaves his footprints. Some of these are good, and some of them not. As responsible members of this society we look at ourselves. We believe disclosure (being transparent) is necessary to ‘report’ to society. Disclosure is not always voluntary. In this connected world a covering up is increasingly difficult. But we thought we could take this principle of transparency one step further. We created Bunga!
